We work very closely with all of our clients to understand their organisation’s culture, what they are trying to achieve, and the type of skills and personality a successful candidate will need to possess. We look at the background to the role, why it has arisen, how it will be measured and its part in the overall company objective. If necessary we will assist in writing the draft job specification thus making our search more focused and accurate.
Once we have this sound understanding of our client’s requirements we approach the marketplace to find the right individuals for the role. It’s how we achieve this that makes us different.
As a team we all, senior directors included, sit down to discuss the brief and each team member offers up potentially suitable candidates, organisations which may well have potential candidates, and any relevant contacts. In short we compile a first list from our personal network of contacts, referrals, and industry search techniques: we don’t just use a database.
We spend time with our clients – face-to-face or on the phone to understand what you’re looking for – we look at the background to the role, why it’s arisen, where the role fits into the bigger plan, who this person’s peer group will be and how they’ll be measured. If required (or just if it will help) we will write a draft job specification to help us both agree who you’re looking for – this detail helps our search to be focused and more accurate.
We then face-to-face interview all potential candidates, run technical tests where appropriate and will only submit C.V’s of candidates we are confident fit your requirements.
We have an open and interactive approach to working with our clients – the better we know you and understand your culture and requirements, the better we can find the best people for you. We won’t send masses of CV’s to you – we will target the best two or three individuals and send you their details – if you want to change the requirement or the type of person you’re looking for, that can be done easily if we’re working in an interactive and iterative way.
