PMO Lead

My client, a leading Financial institution, based in the City of London (and with significant global presence, is seeking a PMO Lead to join their recently established Group PMO function. Working across a single portfolio that comprises circa 200 projects across all locations (including Europe, North America, and Asia). The different programmes in the portfolio include Regulatory Programmes, IT, Finance, Risk, HR, Marketing, and Property. Because personality is of greater importance than industry experience, we do not necessarily require financial services experience, however preference will be given to anyone coming form another regulated industry sector, such as Telco, Big Pharma (& the like)

    Reporting to the Portfolio PMO Lead, this role provides project management support, and project governance and control services to key projects and programmes in the portfolio. Working closely with the project manager and the Portfolio PMO Lead, the PMO Lead role is responsible for providing all primary PMO services to the PM, including but not limited to support on project level:

  • Planning and schedule management,
  • Financial management (including resource effort and purchase costs),
  • Resource management,
  • Risk and Issue management,
  • Reporting and communications
  • Governance and change control, and
  • Quality assurance.

The PMO Lead will also provide supplementary training to project managers on Group Project Management standards as and when appropriate, and provide quality assurance on the output reports and data inputs. The role will also support the Project Manager in producing end-of-project reviews, highlighting any necessary, retrospective, training required. Depending on current demand, the PMO Lead may be aligned with supporting several projects and/or programmes, and their associated managers, on an ad hoc basis. Key Responsibilities
